Rapid Antibody test involves a finger-prick blood sample and detects the IgG and IgM antibodies, produced in response to being exposed to coronavirus.
What the service involves:
The service involves collecting a blood sample to perform a test to see if you have Coronavirus (SARS-COV-2) antibodies. The blood sample will be taken by one of our trained nurses via a finger-prick. This means that we will collect a small sample of blood from one of your fingers. The test result would be available within 15 minutes and would detect an immune response to the vaccine as well as a response to a previous infection. The response will however not be differentiated from one another. This test can be done before or after vaccination to see if you’ve had coronavirus before.
A negative or non-reactive result for an individual subject indicates absence of detectable COVID-19 virus antibodies. However, a negative or non-reactive rest result does not preclude the possibility of exposure to or infection with COVID-19 virus.
Please note that a positive result does not guarantee immunity to the virus.
